Overview

The Turin shroud is a linen cloth of 436x110 cm size on which the image of a 30-40 year old crucified man of about 1.80 meters is to be recognized. It contains different burn marks as well as a many blood stains.

For some it is a brilliant medieval forgery, for others the real shroud of Jesus. Only in our time scientific methods are available, to discover the shroud properly.

There is information on the shroud which indicates a natural survival of the crucified. If really Jesus of Nazareth lay under the cloth, this could turn traditional Christianity upside down.

Today the shroud is kept in the cathedral of Turin and is considered as the most significant relic of Christianity.
